Love dogs and enjoy sharing useful tips with other owners? With the Lildog partner programme, you can earn commission when someone buys Lildog through your personal link – and continue earning when they renew their subscription.
The programme is suitable for dog enthusiasts who want to recommend Lildog to friends and acquaintances, as well as dog trainers, instructors, dog training schools and clubs that regularly meet dog owners through their activities.
You get access to your own partner portal with a personal link, a QR code and an overview of your earnings. Here, we explain how the partnership works, from your first recommendation to receiving your commission. You do not need any previous experience with affiliate marketing.
What does being a Lildog partner mean?
As a Lildog partner, you recommend Lildog to dog owners and earn commission when your recommendation leads to a purchase and an activated subscription. Commission is the payment you receive for referring that customer.
This type of partnership is also called affiliate marketing. Simply put, a business pays you when someone buys through a link connected to you.
For example, you could send your link to a friend considering a GPS tracker for their dog, introduce Lildog during a training course or let someone scan your QR code at a dog event. The customer then visits the Lildog online shop and places their order there.
With Lildog, the commission is recurring. This means you can also earn when the customer renews their subscription. One recommendation can therefore generate income over time, as long as the subscription remains eligible for commission under the partner agreement.
Who is the partner programme for?
The Lildog partner programme is for dog enthusiasts who want to recommend Lildog to others. You can take part as a dog owner with a small personal network, or through a business or club that reaches many dog owners.
- Dog enthusiasts and owners: You enjoy sharing experiences and tips with friends, walking companions and other dog lovers.
- Dog trainers and instructors: You meet owners through courses, private lessons and training sessions.
- Dog training schools: You regularly welcome new participants who may find GPS tracking useful.
- Dog clubs and associations: You are looking for an additional source of income to support club activities and member benefits.
- People who share dog-related content: You publish articles, photos or personal experiences on a website or social media.
You do not need to be a professional trainer or have a large following to get started. A recommendation to a walking companion can be just as relevant as a presentation during a course. What matters is that your recommendation is useful to the owner you are speaking to.
What is Lildog?
Lildog is a Norwegian-developed GPS tracker for dogs, manufactured in Vanvikan in the Trøndelag region of Norway. The tracker works with the Lildog app, allowing owners to view their dog’s location and location history on a map.
GPS tracking can be a useful tool if a dog gets loose or disappears from sight. Conversations about walks, recall and safety can therefore provide a natural opportunity to introduce Lildog.

How it works – step by step
1. Create a partner profile
Visit the Lildog partner portal and create a profile. Joining is free.
The portal is where you find your personal link, download your QR code and track your referrals and commission.
2. Find your personal link and QR code
You receive a link connected to your partner profile. This is the link you share when recommending Lildog, so purchases can be attributed to you in accordance with the programme’s terms.
Your QR code opens the same personal link. The dog owner scans it with their phone camera and is taken to the online shop.
In the portal, you can copy your link and download your QR code as a PNG or PDF. This allows you to use it both digitally and on printed materials.
3. Share it with dog owners
You decide how to share your link or QR code. You might share it with friends and acquaintances, during courses, at events or through your own channels.
4. The customer buys and activates their subscription
The dog owner buys Lildog through your link and activates their subscription. When the purchase and subscription are attributed to your referral and meet the terms, they become eligible to generate commission.
It is the purchase and activated subscription that generate income. Clicking the link or scanning the QR code alone does not earn commission.
5. Track your earnings and set up payouts
In the partner portal, you can follow registered sales, active subscriptions and earned commission.
To receive payouts, you need to connect your partner account to Stripe using the button in the portal. Stripe is the payment service used to pay out your commission.
You can start sharing your link and earning commission before completing this connection, but you must connect to Stripe to receive your payouts. Commission is settled in accordance with the partner agreement.
How does recurring commission work?
Many people associate commission with a one-off payment for a sale. The Lildog partner programme also pays commission when subscriptions renew.
For the monthly subscription, the rate is NOK 50 per month for each active, commission-eligible subscription. Here are some examples:
| Active monthly subscriptions referred by you | Commission per month |
|---|---|
| 10 | NOK 500 |
| 20 | NOK 1,000 |
| 50 | NOK 2,500 |
| 100 | NOK 5,000 |
| 200 | NOK 10,000 |
All example amounts are shown in Norwegian kroner (NOK). The table shows what a given number of active, commission-eligible monthly subscriptions generates at this rate. Other subscription types have their own commission rates, which you can find in the partner portal.
New customers can add to income from earlier recommendations
Imagine that five dog owners buy Lildog through your link and each activates a monthly subscription. At NOK 50 commission per subscription, that amounts to NOK 250 per month.
Later, five more owners do the same. If the original five still have commission-eligible subscriptions, you now have ten such subscriptions attributed to you. That amounts to NOK 500 per month.
For a dog trainer, new customers might come from upcoming courses. For a dog club, they might be new members. As a dog enthusiast, you may meet more owners interested in GPS tracking through walks, events and conversations.
In this way, earlier recommendations can continue generating income while new customers join. The development depends on how many customers you refer, which subscriptions they choose and how long they continue.
Explore the possibilities with the commission calculator
The partner portal includes a commission calculator. You can adjust the number of new customers per month and see how your commission could develop over several years.
The calculator also accounts for customer churn. This means the model assumes that some customers will cancel their subscriptions over time. The model shown in the portal includes a monthly churn rate of 1.4%.
Use the calculator to explore a scenario that fits you, your business or your club. How many dog owners are you in contact with, and how many might be interested in GPS tracking?
The calculations show possible outcomes based on the model’s assumptions. Your actual earnings depend on the subscriptions and commission registered to your partner account.
How to use your partner link and QR code in everyday life
With friends and other dog enthusiasts
Perhaps a walking companion asks about the tracker on your dog’s collar, or a friend is considering GPS for their own dog. You can explain Lildog and send your partner link so they can read more and use the discount if they decide to buy.
A personal recommendation works best when it addresses a real need. Share your own experiences and give the owner time to consider the product.
During dog training courses
Put your QR code on a card or flyer that participants can take home. You could also display it at the end of the course or include your partner link in the course materials.
A short explanation is enough: What is Lildog, why might it be useful and how does the participant get the discount? Our guide to how GPS tracking for dogs works is useful reading for anyone who wants to understand the technology.
In a dog club
The club can share its partner link in member updates, on its website or in relevant posts. The QR code can be displayed in the clubhouse or made available during training sessions and events.
Members’ purchases can then contribute additional income to the club. That income could help fund equipment, events or other member benefits.
At stands, meetups and events
Display your QR code on a sign where visitors can easily scan it. This makes it simple to move from a conversation about Lildog to finding out more in the online shop.
Directly from your phone
You do not need printed materials to share your QR code. Display it on your phone and let the owner scan it with theirs. You can also send your personal link directly to someone who wants more information.
On your website and social media
Share your personal link alongside an explanation or experience that is relevant to your audience. Clearly explain that you or your club receive commission on purchases made through the link.
Practical information helps owners assess the product. When someone asks about charging and everyday use, you can share our guide to GPS tracker battery life for dogs and cats. What you will find in the partner portal
The partner portal brings together the tools you use to share Lildog and the information you need to track your earnings.
| Feature | What you use it for |
|---|---|
| Personal link | Share a purchase link connected to your partner profile. |
| QR code | Make your link accessible on phones and printed materials. |
| Total sales | View registered sales from your referrals. |
| Active subscriptions | Track active subscriptions attributed to you. |
| Earned commission | View your registered commission earnings. |
| Next settlement | See the listed date for the next settlement. |
| Commission history | Follow earned commission and transfers to Stripe over time. |
| Expected commission | View estimates based on active subscriptions attributed to you. |
The overview distinguishes between earned amounts and expected commission. An estimate for a future month is therefore different from money that has already been earned or paid out.
